Guns N’ Roses Slot Stakes & Stats
The Guns N’ Roses slot has 5 reels, with 3 rows and is played with 20 pay lines. Winning combinations are made by matching 3, 4, or 5 symbols on a pay line starting from reel 1. The slot also features Guns N’ Roses wild symbols that can land anywhere and will expand to cover the entire reel. These will substitute for all symbols except the bonus.
Most casinos will allow bet sizes that range from 20p to £200, and players from outside the UK can take advantage of the auto-play feature. This allows you to set the desired amount of spins, and win / loss limits. There is also a quick spin function, and the ability to use the space bar to spin. The game is also equipped with its own soundtrack, and you can choose to play a collection of Guns N’ Roses classics, or loop whichever song you prefer.
The slot is equipped with 3 bonus features in the base game alone, and these are activated at random. You have the Appetite for Destruction wild, the Legend Free Spins, and the solo multiplier. There is also the standard bonus which is activated by 3 scatters, and this can award a number of options. There is a straightforward cash win, the pick-and-click Crowd Pleaser bonus, and the Encore Free Spins bonus.
The Guns N’ Roses online slot has an excellent RTP of 96.98% and is classed as low – medium in terms of volatility meaning you can expect decent wins in both the base game and bonus features.
The Guns N’ Roses Slot
The Guns N’ Roses slot from NetEnt is unsurprisingly all about the iconic band, and it features some of their greatest hits which you get to choose from. Its gameplay area is set on a concert stage, and you can see the fans silhouetted below. The entire scene is animated and the crowd will jump up for winning spins. Firework sparks will fall from the top of the stage, giving the slot a real live music feel. The game features some of the band’s biggest hits such as Paradise City, Welcome to the Jungle, Sweet Child O’ Mine, November Rain, and Chinese Democracy. You can pick your favourite to play on loop, or the game will cycle through the set list.
The game does feature the standard 10, J, Q, K, and A symbols to make up the lower payouts, but unlike other slots, they seem to fade into the background. The premium symbols such as the plectrums, band members and wild symbols seem more prominent because of this. Payouts for the premium symbols range from 7.5 X your stake for 5 blue plectrums, up to 37.5 X your stake for landing 5 Axl Rose symbols. The game also features expanding wilds and blue bonus record symbols that will get you into the main bonus round.
Guns N’ Roses online slot features 3 additional bonuses that are awarded at random during the base game, and these all increase the fun of the gameplay matching perfectly with the theme. NetEnt have themed this slot impeccably, and the slick graphics and great animation provide a very entertaining experience.
Bonus Features
The Guns N’ Roses slot has a variety of bonuses to keep you entertained. Base game bonuses are activated at random and include the Solo Multiplier, Appetite for Destruction wild, and Legend Spins. The game also has a standard bonus which is activated by the scatter symbols, and this can then be broken down into two further features. There’s a lot to get through, so let’s take a closer look!
Solo Multiplier Bonus
Activated at random, this is the most common base game bonus. It occurs when you land 3 matching symbols on reels 1, 2, and 3. You’ll then see that the centre symbol on reel 4 becomes highlighted as the reel continues to spin and tease with a count up of your multiplier. This can be anywhere between 4 X and 10 X. Needless to say, but if you match the 4th and 5th symbol, you can be in for a pretty decent win, especially if any of the other reels contain an expanding wild symbol.
Appetite for Destruction Wild
Next up is the Appetite for Destruction wild symbol. Again, this is a random occurrence in the base game and this time the stage appears to shake. A cross appears centred on reel 3, and each end depicts the band members as skulls. The cross then spins in sync with the reels and can either land completely central, centre top, or centre bottom. This can also combine with regular expanding wilds to create a fantastic win!
Legend Spins
The final base game bonus is the Legend Spins. Here, the screen will dim and Legend Spins are announced. When the reels stop, you’ll see that reel 3 contains a stacked Axl Rose wild. Two further re-spins are awarded. The first will see Issy appear as a stacked wild on reels 1 and 5. The final re-spin will put Slash on reels 2 and 4. From experience, the one with the most potential is the Slash spin, but any or all of them can create great wins.
Guns N’ Roses Slot Main Bonus
The Guns N’ Roses slot does have a main bonus feature which is activated by the record scatter symbols on reels 1, 3, and 5. When you land the scatters, a spinning record wheel and stylus will appear. You then click to stop the record on any of 3 bonuses. The first possibility is a cash award bonus of between 10 and 30 X your stake. Expect to be gutted if the record stops on that one, because that’s your lot for the bonus! However, there are two other possibilities…
Crowd Pleaser Bonus
The Crowd Pleaser Bonus is pick and click, and consists of 3 rounds. With this bonus, you have to pick 3 symbols and each will award a cash prize. Some of the symbols will also award another pick, and you’ll see a meter on the left where your score increases. The aim is to collect enough to reach the next level where a further 3 picks are awarded. If you make it to the top of the meter, then your win tally will be doubled!
However, there is also another meter on the right for free spins. Each pick of a symbol has the potential to award free spins. You’ll need to collect 3 of those to enter the free spin round, once the Crowd Pleaser bonus is complete. If you succeed in this, then you will be awarded 10 Encore Free Spins. It is possible to reach the top of the meter to double your win, and also collect enough for the Encore Free Spins. If you achieve this, then you’ll be in for a very tasty win!
Encore Free Spins
Completing the list of the Guns N’ Roses online slot bonuses is the Encore Free Spins. Here you’ll be awarded 10 free spins with each one containing a stacked wild. During the free spins, a band member will appear stacked and will overlay reels 2, 3, or 4. Whilst there’s only one stacked wild band member, any other instances of the same symbol will also be wild on other reels. This means you can land some fantastic wins during these free spins.

Theme
NetEnt really have created a winner with the theme for this slot, because it has widespread appeal to anyone who appreciates rock music. I may be a little biased because I grew up in the 80’s and was a fan of the band. However, I don’t think you have to be a fan to actually enjoy the slot. The graphics and animation are slick, and the crowd in the foreground is a nice touch that really adds to the music-themedaesthetic. When you hit a big win, you also get treated to a clip of their live performance as the win counts up. I don’t think NetEnt could have done a better job creating a rock concert feel, and I think this should serve as a gold standard that other slot providers should aim for when creating a music themed slot.
Soundtrack
NetEnt have completely nailed it with regard to the soundtrack. Obviously it was going to be Guns N’ Roses music, but unlike Big Time Gaming’s efforts with similar themed slots, NetEnt have made use of the full versions of the songs. Not only that, they have created a playlist of 5 of the biggest hits they did. You can play out the list of 5 included in the game, or you can select your favourite on the list and loop it. Either way, it’s the soundtrack that completes the theme and makes you feel as though you’re actually at a gig.
Gameplay
The gameplay on the Guns N’ Roses slot is slick and looks great. I’ve been playing it a lot recently, and even when I’ve not done well, I certainly haven’t been bored. There’s plenty to keep you interested and the speed is at a decent level. I find that the ability to use space bar to spin with NetEnt is great, and something other providers should look at more. If you’re outside the UK, you’ll be able to use quick spin and the autoplay functions too.
The only gripe I have with the gameplay is that the time gap between a big win spin and the video clip that goes with it is too small. When you hit a big win, you don’t actually get to see what you’ve landed properly before it cuts to a clip of the band on stage with the count up. I’m probably nit picking with that, but it often leaves me wondering what the hell just happened! However, if I’ve noticed it enough to class it as a flaw, then it’s not a bad flaw to have!
Entertainment Value
When considering the entertainment value, I have tried to remain objective and imagine that I’m not actually a fan of the band. However, I think that as long as you don’t hate Guns N’ Roses, then you’ll get a lot of enjoyment from playing this slot. It’s RTP is close to 97% and the volatility is low to medium. This means that you’ll not be waiting too long for a decent win, and I think that’s definitely important when considering the entertainment factor.
Obviously with a high RTP and lowish volatility there has to be a trade off, and you certainly wont get big wins as often. However, there is enough to keep you playing and that’s a sign that NetEnt have actually got the balance right. The theme, the music and gameplay all combine here to make this slot one that you’ll find hard to stop playing.
Guns N’ Roses Slot Review Conclusion
I have to say that I’ve really enjoyed reviewing this slot, and that’s certainly reflected in the score. Obviously slots can provoke good memories if you’ve had previous good wins on them, and that’s one of the reasons they’ll keep you coming back for more. However, they can also achieve that by sparking happy memories. Guns N’ Roses does just that because they were the soundtrack to my youth!
If you’re the type to avoid high volatility slots, then there’s a good chance you’ll enjoy it. If you also happen to like plenty of bonuses and rock music then you’ll love it. All in all, it’s a big thumbs up for the Guns N’ Roses slot!
